Delco Carousel Manual
Jun 22nd, 2010, 8:10pm

Just to say that today I came across a PDF of the original manuel !
Interestingly it allows for inputting of the frequency of the DME fixes.
After you have pressed <Insert> for the station altitude
one presses W then key in the station frequency then <Insert>
I tried it in the sim but it doesn't work. But apart from that feature the sim gauge is about 99% real. Smiley

Which manual did you read?Where did you encountered that it's necessary to push W after you have pushed INSERT?
Make a preprinted part of the OPERATIONSMANUAL.pdf concerning the DME UPDATING and follow step by step the
OPERATIONSMANUAL.pdf\chapter 5 Conditional Procedures\Paragraph 3 DME Position updating.
If you'll perform the correct procedure you can recognize that everything works properly and that the Civa Ins is 100% like the real one.

I never implied that what is in the comprehensive manuals is wrong. I just noticed that in the real manual there was this extra facility. Of course it's not neccessary in the sim. [img][/img]

Vololiberista,

would it be possible for you to let me have that pdf? Or if it is available online would you please let me have a link to it?
I think it is relative to a newer CIVA "program" (so "firmware") but I'm not sure.

Thanks
Marco

I cannot see in your manual the Item press W after having pressed INSERT.
Your manual copy and our Operation manual are the same because I have also the Carousel manual. You Have to check if your manual copy is referred to civa 28-A program because there are many programs of Carousel IV Ins.

ciao Marco,
Your manual is for civa 25-A&26-A programs. Our INS is the replica of civa 28-A and I checked that the procedure of our OPERATIONSMANUAL is written exactly like the real civa 28-A program manual.I copied it from the Delco manual. And finally I used in the realty for 26 years this INS gauge.

Sure, that is why I was asking for a copy of the pdf, I'd be interested to read it and see the differences...

Wonder what the point was since presumably it still had to
use the external receiver?

I'm happy to have it work automatically and not have to key
in the frequency Smiley

I repeat:  our INS is the CIVA 28A Replica. In the URL you posted there is a Civa 23 manual.Civa 23 has been used on DC8 and other similar 60th planes.  It's a very old Civa of Delco Carousel INS.
