INS heatup problem
Jul 17th, 2010, 6:01pm

I switch to STBY,and put my Position coordinates,
Then, switch to Align to align the INS system, heating up
Goes from 95 to 85...75...65.  At 65,it stucks, and Red WARNlight lightens up.
When plane is ready for taxiing (engines on,systems working)
For making INSNAV light comin up,i need minimum 55.  How to do this now?

When you enter you POS coordinates make sure you only press <insert> once after inserting your latitude. It's a common mistake as <insert> stays lit so it makes one believe that it isn't working hence a second press at least. For a very long time I couldn't get pass 6 9 for this reason and only on this forum was I told to be careful.

When the WARN red light comes on you have to perform the related ABNORMAL procedure. You have to set the CDU selectors to DSRTK/STS and read the codes and you have to apply the related procedure as written in the operations manual.
