Need help from the developers

Guys,

Really looking for some assistance. I cannot get the keyboard input mode to work with the CIVA INS. I have been using the product for many years but only have this problem now with my new computer.

Windows 7 64bit OS. SP1 installed.
DirectX is up to date.

Please advise what I need to do to get this working, thanks! Really challenging flying the ConcordeX without keyboard input.

I did a bit more testing tonight and can confirm that when clicking the keyboard input clickspot that my number keys no longer work with other programs like Ezdok, however, nothing will show in the INS. Other buttons like CTRL-Z still work in this mode and I am guessing that is normal as these keys have nothing to do with the INS. When I click the clickspot again and the yellow light goes out then I get my regular keyboard assignments back.

Try to open the START menù than right click on Flight simulator click on Properties\compatibility set the windows7 as operative system and check the box of "run this program in compatibility mode for windows7". Some more informaiton:

another pilot on the FlightSimLabs forums has confirmed that you can have EZDok installed and still use the keyboard input on the CIVA INS.

I am just wondering if this is related to the install order of the program in the simconnect folder? I remember there was some issue like this with the Level D 767. Just guessing here....

I just tried it with the default Learjet and the sample panel but still did not work. Also just reinstalled, ran as admin in Windows 7 compatability mode and it did not work.

I think there is something in my Windows7 setup that is missing. So lets start with basics:

What version of DirectX do I need installed?
What version (if any) of MS Net Framework do I need installed ?
Are there any dependent services for the CIVA Gauge? I have disabled a few of them.

I think the developers have modified the green light to a yellow square but other than that everything else is the same. Please note that this did work properly on my old computer.

Someone on the ConcordeX forums suggested I remove all modules from the dll.xml file and when I did this the keyboard entry worked again.

So I have narrowed it down through trial and error to the FSCopilot DLL. Now this DLL was at the top of the list and I remember that it was also causing problems for the Level D 767 so I moved it to the bottom of the list but it still did not work. If I take it out, no problem, put it back and it does not work. I even reinstalled FSInn and FSCopilot.

I have just moved to a new computer so I check my old FSX setup on my old system (Win XP) and FSCopilot is there also below the FSLabs Dll's and on my old system it worked just fine.

Hopefully you have a suggestion of where to go from here (please don't say use SB4).

Another person has tried FSInn/Copilot with CIVA INS and confirmed that the keyboard entry will not work. This seems to be only with Windows7 as I had it working before with Windows XP. Any ideas ? in your panel .cfg there are some very strange parameters.
All gauge parameters of [window00] are 0,0,0,0
except the civa gauges.

it should be:

than always in the [window00] you have :
gauge26=../civa/civac!Adeu1,0,0,1,1
gauge27=../civa/civac!Adeu2,0,0,1,1
it does mean that your Adeu dimensions are 1pixel x 1pixel
and their positions are coincident: one Adeu over the other.
On the [window05]
you have:
gauge00=../civa/civac!cdu1,334,25,1,1
gauge01=../civa/civac!cdu1,335,25,1,1
the same on [window06] for the gauge00 related to the cdu3.
Here also there are some unbelievable parameters
First you have two cdu1 and none cdu2. I think that the gauge01 should be:

Your CDUs dimensions are 1pixel x 1 pixel
unbelievable because your CDUs are too small and not readable.
Marco and me after having checked the INS source code we do confirm that in the civa ins the keyboard led is ONLY green.There isn't any yellow led.
I noticed that there is in your panel.cfg another INS: the FSL_ConcX INS.

In the [window 17] there are also the civa MSU gauges but FS9 cannot read these gauges because their numbers are not in correct sequence.Anyway the gauge dimensions get the civa gauges useless because unreadable.
Maybe the yellow led is related to the FSL_ConcX INS and you can be sure that these CDUs&MSUs aren't civa INS.
Because these FSL_ConcX CDUs&MSUs have coherent parameters and the civa ones are useless,unreadable and not coherent I think that you are now not using civa ins but you're using the FSL_ConcX ins.

In fact part of the ConcordeX install process is to have the user download and install your guages. This is way over my head so I will need to get the ConcordeX guys to look at this thread. Mark.
