Title: Re: Position problem Post by Marco Ravanello on Apr 23rd, 2008, 7:55pm That is 06-41 and it is not an error, it's just a (clearable) warning, see ActionAndMalfunctionCodes.pdf Regards Marco |

Title: Re: Position problem Post by s˛ on Nov 1st, 2008, 5:46pm I have exactly the same problem described by Alfy. In fact, my problems started at Heathrow as well. I have used the INS for a while now with no problems. Moving from airport to airport always have the red warning light which was cleared and I proceeded on my way. About three days ago I tried to start a flight from Heathrow, and my INS units seized up completely. I could enter the N51, 27.6 perfectly fine on all three units, however when it came to entering the East/West coordinates it wouldn't accept them. The red warning lights came on, with the code 06-41, which I cleared, however the East/West display window of the INS units would not accept any coordinates. Units one and three wouldn't even respond to commands, almost as if they ahd forzen, and unit two would allow me to switch from West to East, but it wouldn't allow any numbers to be inserted. I ended up flying the flight on GPS (yuck). Today i tried the INS again from a different airport. The same North/South entries were there from the last time, as well as the waypoint selector numbers and knob positions. Usually when i restart flight sim things are in a random pattern. Again, it wouldn't accept the ramp position. What could be wrong with it? Code 06-41. (cleared successfully) Units 1 and 3 won't respond to East/West entries. Unit 2 will change from East to West, but won't accept coordinates. Restarting FS and computer haven't cleared any errors. Do i need a reinstall of CIVA? [EDIT] I reinstalled the CIVA INS package, and the problem remains. I cannot enter/change the information in the right hand East/West display. I am stumped! Its like the units have completely corrupted themselves. |
Title: Re: Position problem Post by Gianfranco on Nov 2nd, 2008, 11:18am Hi, for each INS you have to enter one at time LAT&LON and push INSERT checking that INSERT LT goes out only after the LON insertion. The code 06-41 comes out when the RAMP position insertion is over. In your case I think that the INSs accepted as ramp position: N51 27.6 W000 00.0. When the Ramp position is accepted isn't allowed to enter EAST/WEST coordinates but the ramp position must be reinserted completely: North/South&East/West coordinates because the ramp position insertion cannot be split like a Waypoint insertion. For this reason after having inserted the LAT and pushed INSERT the INSERT LT remains illuminated and goes out only after the LON insertion. Gianfranco |
Title: Re: Position problem Post by s˛ on Nov 9th, 2008, 8:47pm I got that sorted out.. it took a reinstall after all three units seized up completely. Now I they respond to the key pads. :) Now.. I get an error telling me I'm taxiing during alignment.. with the parking brake set, 0 fuel and the engines shut down. I swear, this flight must be cursed. |
