Title: Probst 727 panel in FS9

Could someone help me please, I have tried everyway I can think to get the INS working in the Probst 727 panel, problem is when I use the toggles to open either the MSU or CSU the screen goes black and only shows the gauge.

I will add the panel cfg, I have not modified it in any other way, I have tried using the cfg for 2002, I have tried writing it myself from the manual, I have tried using the config that works in the Trident panel.

Here goes, any help appreciated. There are spaces on the overhead panel, I have even tried using panel studio.

John,

At the time we released CIVA V1.00 Richard kindly gave us permission to use panel.cfg from his fantastic 727 panel as one of the samples we included in the package so sounds like you're lucky...since you already have it on your hard disk. Try looking into "FsRoot"/Civa/FS2002 Panels/RpB727. That is for FS2002 but from CIVA point of view nothing has changed except ADEUs which have been added later.

Yes that is one of the avenues I tried first, all other gauges are completely blank if you substitute one panel cfg for the other, if you try to merge them then you get the problem whereby you click on the toggles for msu or cdu and the rest of the panel vanishes leaving you with either the msu or cdu alone on a black screen.

I just cant figure out what Im doing wrong.

Im thinking that the reason may be that my build is for 2004 and is the latest after 8 lots of changes.

Did anyone ever figure out what was going wrong?

I installed the INS and associated odds and ends with it, and my panel works fine, with the exception of the view from the cockpit windows is black at all times, regardless of whether or not the INS panel is displayed or not.

All the panels and gauges work, but I cannot see outside the cockpit looking forward.

If anyone got this working I'd love to hear from you!


update:  I finally got my cockpit window views back. I had to turn "global" off under "VIEWS."

The new problem is, I can't get the units to power up!  Can someone help?  Have I missed something?

You canNOT use ins.gau and civac.gau together, use either one or the other and, in your case, I'd use ins.gau which is more realistic for a 727. So correct the file as below:

Thank you. I made the changes you suggested, however I still cannot get the units to power up.

I changed every gauge over to the "INS.gau" package, (CDUs, MSUs, mode selectors, even the update flags), but when I try to turn the CDUs on with the MSU rotary switch they remain off.   I've even tried the "brightness" controls on the CDUs themselves, but nothing seems to work.

Is there anything in the aircraft.cfg that must be changed to allow the INS to have power? Something in the electrical section perhaps?

Have you tried installing CIVA in one of the default aircrafts just to make sure it is a problem with the 727 cfg file?

Rp727 panel was supported, at least on Fs2002, in fact its .cfg file has been distributed with CIVA since the first release. See under fsroot/civa/fs2002 panels/rpb727.

I didn't have the fs2002 folder in my CIVA package for some reason. I re-downloaded it and worked the gauges into the 2004 .cfg I have now and it worked perfectly. My views from the cockpit windows work now as well.

I have a feeling FS Panel Studio was making a muck of things. Every time  I tweak a panel with that program is screws something else up. No more of that!
