I've finally bitten the bullet and am learning how to use the INS not so scary as I first thought but I'm having an issue.

I'm using Dave Maltby's vc-10 on fs9 with windows XP. Now when entering co-ordinates most of them enter fine but for exampl when i enter some co ordinates the ins changes the numbers when i press insert.

Here's one example w 4 59 74 gets changed to w4 63 74 then obvious the distance betwen points seems to be greater.

What am i doing wrong any ideas?

I think that your coordinate format is wrong:
W4 59 74 following the INS format should be:
W04 59.7
The INS wants the cooordinates rounded at nearest minute.
