Title: How do I work the CDU?
Post by Martin S. on Oct 23rd, 2009, 5:38pm

Hi. I've only had this INS gauge installed for a day or two (initially v.1.4, now updated to v.1.51), but I can hardly get past the first post! I've read pdf files till I am blue in the face, but can't find the answer. Hope someone can help..

How do I enter co-ordinates into the CDU? No matter whether I choose Pos, or WayPt, I can enter EITHER the longitude OR the latitude, not both. I press the N2 or 8S key first and can then enter the latitude. OR, I can press the W4 or 6E key and enter the longitude. From there, none of the other keys works, apart from the two I have just used (N2/8S or W4/6E - which resets the latitude or longitude value I just entered to zero, allowing me to enter it again). I can find no way to enter the second co-ordinate so as to get both lat and long into the CDU. I tried left and right clicking all the keys, but none respond apart from the two I started with - and can't find any instruction on this in the manuals.

Bit discouraging - if I can't even get this far! I reinstalled, thinking there was a fault, but I still can't enter both co-ords. Thanks for any help,

Martin   :P

(I am trying to use this with the Tinmouse 737-400 - perhaps I need the v1.24 panel update for this, but I can only locate it on AVSIM, and the file is for now 'missing'. (Anyone have it to send me ????)  :-)

OK, I reinstalled the gauge - something must have gone wrong first time. Now I can enter both co-ordinates. As you were folks ..
