Title: Err...POS is buggy? DF727 Post by Benedettini on Jul 27th, 2010, 11:42am Okay,I deleted the config from CIVA folder, named df727...it is saving for pos. Then, went in game again. In POS,it is 00000 / 00000. I shift+z,and edit pos... e.g N51.20.7 W000.10.0 HOWEVER,it becomes like this: N53.26.4 W000.10.0 Why either LAT or LON changes? Even mine is true setting? However,if i start to ALIGN and move plane with pushback a little, the LAT and LON becomes TRUE :-? That is why I cannot lower my PI down from 6...Warn light, and POS is wrong error. |

Title: Re: Err...POS is buggy? DF727 Post by Benedettini on Jul 27th, 2010, 3:08pm DUDE,you say that I should insert LAT wrong! I meant if I align and move plane a little the POS becomes EXACTLY SAME WITH SHIFT+Z (FS coordinates) :-? Why then setting the LAT thats shown by INS but not true one? |
Title: Re: Err...POS is buggy? DF727 Post by Gianfranco Corrias on Jul 27th, 2010, 5:21pm Hi, for problems inserting the ramp position and align the INSs look at the following post and follow step by step the procedure I've resumed. https://www.simufly.com/cgi-bin/yabb2/YaBB.pl?num=1279496558 Gianfranco |
Title: Re: Err...POS is buggy? DF727 Post by Marco Ravanello on Jul 27th, 2010, 8:38pm > Why then setting the LAT that's shown by INS but not true one? (text actually modified but not altering the actual question) > e.g N51.20.7 becomes like N53.26.4 Not sure 100% but you may be "falling" in one of the many "traps" we have implemented in the FS gauge, trying to, but of course, not even near to, simulating the behavior of the real unit when wrongly managed. If this is true then the INS gauge is probably taking the error accumulated in the last flight (if any, of course), plus the wrongly/partially entered present position error, and applying all these "wrong" inputs to the last known reliable position (if any, of course, otherwise it estimates it applying, to the position reported by FS displaced by a random lat/long offset [as FS reported position is EXTREMELY precise, something not compatible with an "ancient" navigation system]), and I believe what you're saying could be compatible with such condition. Again I'm not 100% sure of what I'm saying and it would take me several hours to check source code to confirm (and I have no such time, sorry). But since CIVA is widely used and such serious bug would have been already reported and fixed several years ago, I'd more easily believe you're following the alignment procedure in the correct way. No problem with this, a LOT of users had problems getting it aligned and "ready to go", so simply report here in the forum where you are (I mean where the aircraft is standing STILL, lat/long) and the exact sequence of keys you're using to enter the Present Position into the INS, this will very probably let us understand more. > and POS is wrong error. Could you also kindly let us know exactly which Action and Malfunction Codes are you dealing with? Any chance they're 06-41 which in fact is only a WARNing and could be easily "cleared" by pressing TEST twice? Marco (edited to correct spelling errors but I'm sure many were left behind... :-/ |
Title: Re: Err...POS is buggy? DF727 Post by Benedettini on Jul 27th, 2010, 11:48pm Erm...Today I tried something different... LSGG Gate 14 N46*13.95 E006*6.63 I set the LAT/LON as this: N461395 E006663 WRONG POSITION...it became E007063 Then,I tried N461395 E006*06.6 As thought maybe FS coordinator doesnt show other 0s. And woh! Solved :D I had PI down 0 :D Err...When pushing back,do I needa take the button to NAV? Coz align mode gives warning 63 |
Title: Re: Err...POS is buggy? DF727 Post by Gianfranco Corrias on Jul 28th, 2010, 9:01am During Alignment the plane must be compleatly stationary in the ramp. When the Alignment reaches API 5 or less you have to select the MSU to NAV.When the MSU selector is in NAV position you can move the plane. Title: Re: Err...POS is buggy? DF727 Post by vololiberista on Jul 29th, 2010, 8:04am DO NOT MOVE the aircraft until the ready lights are lit and then DO NOT MOVE the aircraft until you have selected NAV. I have in possesion a VC10 Flight Manuel and I can say tyhe the gauges are modelled with great accuracy in terms of thier functions. vololiberista |
