INS entry alone or need also FS9 flightplan.pln in
Mar 10th, 2008, 6:56pm

Entering Way-point to INS unit from Tutorial Flight Print-out paper KBOS/KMIA. I did it and had a short flight, got late had to stop. I had no flightplan.pln in my Documents/ Flightsimulator Folder for the same flight, is that right or wrong. Question: Do you have to create a flight-plan first for the FS9 sim with extension .pln ? or can I just enter Coordinates from a flight-plan sheet? From where is CIVA reading all those waypoints, from FS9 sim or from CIVA location?
My point: If no .pln file is needed, I could use Google Earth and find all my Coordinates for a Atlantic/Pacific Flight, also Google Earth show me all Airports/Vor/NDB's in the world, including Runways length. I wounder why I never see about this in a forum. Herb

CIVA requires a set of waypoints to be loaded (into it) either by typing WPs coordinates on the CDU or loading a Waypoint Data Card using the ADEU gauge. It has nothing to do with FS .pln files....except that pln files could be used to create AWC files for ADEU.

Hope this helps

Marco

Thank you very much Marco. I have Google Earth program, in there I have a Flight Simulator x installed, (I think it was a separated program) Every mouse movement give me Coordinations, show airport locations vor/ndb frequencies. All you need to create a flight. Herb
