Civa INS to Captain Sim 727
Mar 31st, 2008, 1:00am

Hi,
I would like to install Civa into the cs727 and would like to know how many Ins the real aircraft used and had in board ?
And someone did it already or should I have to do ?
I would appreciate a state advice.
Cheers
S.

Beware that, AFAIK, cs727 does not support CIVA. CIVA will not be able to control the autopilot.

Thanks, if it's possible to make the 727 follow the GPS route by doing :

Before flight go to your keyboard assignments menu in MSFS2004 (Options->Controls->Assignments...), select Event Category "Radio Commands" and search out the "Nav 1/GPS on/off" event, which by default has no key assignment. Make your own key assignment (e.g. Ctrl+N) in my case and

* Use MSFS flightplan editor to load or create flightplan.
* Take off.
* Press Shift+4 to show AP panel.
* Set autopilot ON (press Z button or switch on switches #3 and #4 according to Manuals).
* Set Autopilot Mode Selector (#1) to NAV/LOC Mode.
* Set Heading Mode to Heading Select Switch (#7).
* Press your assigned key for "Nav 1/GPS on/off".
* Switch on Alt Hold (#5) when you reach required flight level.

Autopilot now follows the GPS route.

So INS will work ?  Wink
So again how many INS inboard for 727 ?
Cheers

INS use FS default autopilot Heading (HDG) mode, not NAV nor GPS, so the answer is: "I really don't know", sorry. Try searching with Google...

I'd say a Dual INS config should fit well but I'm not en expert.

Ok the INS Civa unfortunately won't work with the Legendary 727 Captain Sim autopilot. to install it no problem, but to try to link with HDG is clearly not possible.
So in an other words, as Marco said : "CIVA will not be able to control the autopilot."  Smiley
Vini Vici Vinci

Sorry but I had to study latin for a LOT of years at school so I feel forced to correct you (twice)  Cool

First of all the correct famous sentence is "Veni, vidi, vici", then, I fear, only the first two words are true in your case  Sad

Seriously, thanks for confirming us it does not work!

Kind regards
Marco

I'd recommend the Dreamfleet 727 - CIVA works wonderfully with it! Clinical trials have shown that 8 out of 10 housecats prefer Dreamfleet's 727 to the Captain Sim version.

Please avoid saying "this addon is better than that one" in this forum. We're here to discuss about INS related things.

Thank you,
Marco
