Unable to slave AP to INS
Sep 14th, 2009, 8:43am

Hello I have successfully completed a single installation into the Beech 350.  I have followed the instructions faithfully and everything seems to work perfectly until I try to go to AP with the INS.  I am in heading mode but when I get to a waypoint the plane will not turn to the new course even though a new course is indicated and the distance and time to the new waypoint is correct.

I know there is mention of a INS NAV Mode selector switch in the manual that looks like a toggle switch but in my installation no toggle switch appears.  So, the question is how do I turn on the INS Nav Mode Selector toggle switch?

Here is a copy of my install.

Hi,
In your panel .cfg I can't see any error.
If your plane is  the default Beech 350 are you sure that the Buttons AP&HDG were pushed and lited before to set the INS NAV MODE switch to ON?See Quick Reference guide in the Civa/ Doc folder.
The INS NAV MODE cannot be moved in the ON position if the INS are not in NAV position so being the plane at ramp  it seems stuck.
Before operate the INS NAV MODE selector with the CDU selector on DIS/TIME try to push WPTCHG 0-X and after have checked that in the
FROM- TO display appears 0-X push INSERT.(X stands for the number of TO waypoint you like).
After this insertion the AP is commanded to go from 0(Present position) to the TO waypoint.

Yes I done all of that, the problem is I do not have the INS NAV MODE switch anywhere in the panel.  No toggle switch to switch on or off.  Is there another entry that I am missing to get the INS NAV MODE switch to appear in the panel?

hi ,
the problem of your gauge are the coordinates.
You have put the NAVMODESINGLE gauge out of the panel.
The Main panel size is 640 so the maximum vertical coordinate must be 480 and your gauge has as vertical coordinate 496.
Find a place into the panel size to set the NAVMODESINGLE gauge.
