CIV-A INS in FSX
Feb 28th, 2014, 3:44am

I have used the CIV-A and CIV-AC for a couple of years now in FS9.  It performs marvelously.  I have recently also started using it in FSX in the Historic Jetliner Group's marvelous retro aircraft.  In particular, the B727-200ADVC.

For some reason, no matter what I do, I cannot get power to the CDU's.  I'm using a dual INS configuration.  Remember that FSX is set to load default into the VC view (and the HJG aircraft do not have a VC).

I read elsewhere on these forums that one member solved his "no power to CDUs" issue by placing the INS config line in the first window of the VC entries in his panel config.  Well, I don't have any VC entries to place the config line into, so I placed it where the manual says, in the gauge listings for Window00 of the Main Panel (which is 2D).

I thought simply changing the default setting to load the 2D Panel instead of the 3D VC panel would fix this, but no such luck.  My CDUs are still dead, which is odd because they are by design self-powering from the CDU Battery for a good 20 minutes or so until the aircraft generators take over after engine start.

Here is my config:

Thank you Gianfranco,

That worked, but only after I moved the INS.gau out of gauges and back into the FSX/CIVA folder.

I originally moved it into gauges so FS Panel Design could "find" the gauge so I could use the program to install the CDUs, MSUs, etc exactly where I wanted them.

On a side note.  Why are the forums so sparsely used?  Very few posts in 2013.  I guess that could be a sign that your product is one of the few FS addons that is so well designed that it presents few if any problems.

That is until an amatuer like me gets to messing with it... Grin

Thanks again for your always prompt and always helpful advice.

You cannot move ins.gau file.
If it detects it has been copied/moved out of its original folder it will stop working.
I'm sure this is written in the manuals.
