Tinmouse INS
May 12th, 2010, 2:05am

Using FS9 XPS pro

I'm parked at the gate engines out park brake set - Tinmouse B732

go thru start up including initializing the INS

MCU to standby - INS unit goes on

INS dial to pos input the N coordinates per shift z no problem insert light goes on push insert

put in w coordinates no problem push insert

insert does not go off......also no red error light goes on

if push INS dial to see 95 calc it shows with no errors shows o o plus the 95 but does not initialize just sits there.

config as follows:

For ramp position insertion after having pushed INSERT to insert the N coordinates the INSERT light remains on or goes off?

that's good.If the INSERT light goes off after w coordinates try a Fast Align and watch if the API value proceeds to value 5 and the READY NAV LIGHT on MSU panel comes on.

thanks for your patience.......but not sure I understand....for me n coordinates in ok....insert light goes on...... push insert......insert light remains on.......w coordinates in ok.....push insrt light..... insert light stays on......no red error light......API coordinates do not change...is my situation

therefore the light has never gone out after west coordinates  Undecided

the only time it seems to "work" is if I only put in the n coordinates then double click on the insert button...... then insert goes out and i get the red flashing warning.

after the w coordinates insertion after having pushed the INSERT button the light must go off.Resuming:
Data sel on Pos
1-N coordinates inserted
2-INSERT button/light pushed only once/still on
3-W coordinates inserted
4-INSERT button/light pushed/goes off
After that perform a Fast Align and check if the API value reaches 5 and the Ready NAV light comes on.
Select MSU sel to NAV.
Please can you write the Coordinates N and W in the same format you're using to make the Ramp alignment?

It may be that the reason the "Insert" light doesn't seem to work is because you're not inserting the numbers correctly.
For example N51°28'20.86  W000°27'48.26 should be inserted as follows:- N51282<insert>(light stays on)W0275<insert>(light goes out)

Remember leading zeros are omitted for whole degrees and decimal seconds are rounded to the nearest tenth i.e. a single figure.

again thanks for your patience

re procedure you set out above....thats what i do

n51275w02729 (for N51*27.55'W0*27.29') - this one with a livery does close insert light after w entry and get red error light......API does not reduce (Heathrow)

n45191w753985 (for N45*19.12'W75*39.85') - this with a different livery and place after w entry insert stays on no red error light .....API does not reduce (Seattle)

Huh

here are the coordinates you have to enter in the INS as Ramp position
departing from London.
N5127.5
W00027.3
departing from Seattle
N4519.1
W07539.8

ok thanks very much major step fwd....ins is really neat in comparison to the current fmc!!!!!!!!!

still have problem with API updating properly it does not caluculate at all. I don't know how to do a fast update but have waited over 10 minutes (15 min in one case) with no change in API calc.

to make a "FAST ALIGN"procedure:
after having set the MSU selector on ALIGN position just a mouse click on the upper right screw of the MSU panel.

Tried again with Tinmouse but also RFP but same result no API updating.....everything else seems to work fine.

I've redownloaded 1.51 no change the API still does not update with fast align or otherwise.

Perhaps if there is a working config for tinmouse or rfp it could be forwarded

Sad
