wind indication off above 583 Grounspeed on INS 3
Sep 30th, 2017, 9:43pm

Hi to all,
I have the FlightSimLabs ConcordeX v1.2 with Delco Carousel INS version 1.51.00 build 2296 on FSX Win7.
Everything works fine except that during climb the wind indication only on INS 3 changes to zero when the Groundspeed is increasing to more than about 583 Kts.
When reducing the Groundspeed to below about 583 Kts the wind indication on INS 3 returns to normal.
On INS 1 + 2 the wind indication within the whole speedrange is ok!
Is this behavior of the wind indication onINS 3 normal or not?
Regards
Walter

Hi Walter,

The Concorde includes 3 INS units, where INS #1 and #2 are IV-AC model, while INS #3 is IV-A model.

This was implemented with very few technical information on the actual units. I had some info on the IV-AC model but nothing about INS #3 IV-A model.

Consequently I left INS #3 functionalities and limitations identical to those implemented in the CIVA IV-A model gauges.

Carousel IV-A, as implemented (CIVA-28-A), zeroes displayed wind speed when TRUE air speed is greater than 606 KTS.

So yes, that is the way gauges should behave.

Hi Marco,

thank you for the swift answer and clarification of my propblem.
My fault Huh...I did not realize, that the INS 3 is different to INS 1 and 2.

I checked it again on a flight and indeed the wind indication zeroes only on INS 3 when increasing TAS above 606 Kts and returns to normal when reducing the TAS below 606 Kts as prescribed in the manual for the CIVA IV-A model which was delivered with the FSL-ConcordeX.

Is there any change to get a manual for the CIVA IV-AC model?
(download)

Thaks again, regards
Walter

You're most welcome Walter.

If you mean the original manual then I don't know, try emailing the 2~3 web sites selling copies of original aircraft manuals.

If you're looking for IV-A vs IV-AC differences check Carousel IV-AC.pdf in CIVA Docs folder.

Last chance for you is to ask FsLabs if they have the Concorde manual where I believe there should be a chapter dedicated to Inertial Navigation.

Thanks for the hint Marco...IV-A vs IV-AC.pdf in CIVA Docs folder is fine.
By the way a top and perfect addon especially for the concorde!
